Although our last two NEMBA trails days have been cancelled due to rain, we have been busy behind the scenes trying to keep up with our plans of adding new singletrack in the southeast section of the forest.
A new trail has been cut, approx .85mi long winding singletrack and will sport a number of tech features when complete. Aprils' project, this project along with another project slated for later this month will give us nearly 2 more miles of great riding in an area where many of us never even ventured before. This is in addition to the 1 1/2 mi of well recieved trail we cut in near there last fall with your help.
This new section is a bit rough and not always easily visible as you ride it but there for riding none the less. We are hoping for good weather on June 24th and a large turnout of volunteers to help finish up these projects. In the meantime we will continue, weather permitting, to get in and clean up the trail. Hope to see some of you on the 24th.
The latest trail is marked in red on the map.

OK, we've been moving right along here. The "New" trail pictured in red in the first post is 90%+ complete. There are a few issues to deal with and we will get to those soon but it is totally rideable. Let us know what you think.
We will be getting back in this week to flag out the latest section of trail (pictured in red on this map)
which with your help this Sat can be finished, adding a perimeter connection of singletrack to that area.
We also plan on going back to the 1 1/2 mi trail that was put in last fall and take care of a few trail features there.

Norman will be sending out more info this week as to where we will meet and time ect. Hope to see you there.

Well a third Trail Day has been rained out, but that still hasen't slowed us down. The trail shown in red in the fourth post is "operational". A bit more work will be involved to finish it off and that will happen in the next couple of weeks.
Kirk and i plan om getting in this week to work on the approaches to the boardwalk and finish blocking off a section of the old trail.
Again this is a relatively short connector section of trail but it does create a perimeter loop of single track in that section of forest.
We'll be working on other trail issues throughout the summer months in that area of the forest, if anyone is available to help out during the week or a couple Sat/Sun mornings, PLEASE give us a shout.
And mark August 12th on your calendars, our next scheduled NEMBA trail day, if it dosen't rain....
Get out there and ride these new trails, they need to be broken in, and enjoy.

Look for a new addition on the "Upper Valley Trail". This is one of the new trails constructed in the past 2 months.
A 29ft lg/15in wide plank boardwalk has been added in an area which turns very muddy in the spring and after extended rains.
We'll be getting in soon to do some finish work on the newest section of trail (lower valley trail) soon also.
On our August 12th NEMBA Trail Day we hope to be heading out to these areas one more time to add/refine some alternate lines and work on the trail tread in certain sections of the new trails built since last fall.
In the meantime, get out and help "ride in" the new trails.

A bunch of us NH members rode in there a couple of weeks ago. You guys are doing great! Keep up the good work!

I hope we can get down there to give you a hand sometime this year.

Ahem, Bob, Which one is the "Upper Valley Trail"? Would that be The New Trail?
The New New Trail?
The New New New Trail?
Or the New New New New Trail?
(which is, of course, the newest trail) ;)

Thanks Peter, I also need to make my annual showing for FOMBA trail work soon. You guys, and trails, have always been an inspiration.
