Hey-- Looking for workable fork for my trail hardtail, somewhere around 130 mm travel.
Blew out my Psylo and want something useable but cheap to carry me until I buy a new bike this summer.
Willing to pay around $75
I have a Grand Cherokee Thule rack for partial trade if anyone is looking for one.

Are you looking for one with disc or rim brakes. If you want disc I have a recent rebuilt(by rep about 3-4 months ago) Manitou Black elite, 130 travel, steerer is 7 1/8" long. Replaced it with a minute 3 befor I even rode it after the rebuild so its effectivly new. I am looking to get 125.00 for it plus shipping. If you wanted it and are near Raymond NH we could set up a meet. Just let me know.

I have a 130mm Z1 MCR that I picked up from Heckler. It was recently rebuilt at JRA through him and since I have put about 40 miles or so on it. Steerer is just over 8 inches. I was asking $120 for it.
I can email pics if you want them, for some reason they still don't show up here for me.

Pardon my stupidity, but I'm not sure what steerer length means. Does that mean I have to cut it? I have no idea what the steerer length on a Psylo is.
Also, would you take $100 for it? I have a baby on the way and am on a tight budget!

Steerer length is the length of the tube that goes through your headtube. Depending on the size of your frame you need a certain length to fit through that, the headset stack height and a stem, and add spacers if needed. Being over 8 inches is 'usually' long enough. You should take out your fork and measure like this picture just to be sure it will work. Just loosen the top cap and stem bolts and the fork will slide out. Do it slowly to keep track of the headset parts. Park tools has a pretty good reference for doing this stuff.
What frame is the hardtail? And what headset if you know?
Check that out and then we can barter a bit on price...

Pictures didn't work. Can you try emailing them here?

The frame is a GT Avalanche. No idea what the headset is.
I am aslo looking for a cheap used beefy hardtail frame 18" or bigger-- Haro Escape or something similar-- If you know of any.
Trying to rebuild my shot bike on a budget. With the baby coming it will be a long time before there is $ for a new bike!
