Well, I got a new to me road bike on Friday that hasn't been ridden and putting together a mtn bike which stalled at the cables since I can't ride anywhere either... so I thought I would post an interesting story instead....
The Good, Bad and Lucky??
Jan - Winter ride at Great Brook
Bad - Chain got jammed in the spokes, pulled out some tools from seat bag and made out ok
Worse - Get back to car and keys and multi-tool fell out of the bag on the trail someplace... Must have not zipped it all the way up.
Bad - Spent day at work in Spandex until I could get back to Great Brook with keys to get my truck
Lucky - Someone found the keys and toolkit!! Yeah... back in business
Nuetral - Bought a magnetic key holder for my truck
Feb - Ride at Great Brook
Bad - A bit paranoid about zipper so I know it was zipped but got back and keys fell out again. Went searching a little but didn't find them.
Nuetral- Had an extra pair of shorts/shirt at work so spent day like that
Lucky - Called and someone again found the keys!! Yeah, back in business with a ride to the truck
Bad - Still didn't get a key made for the magnetic key holder
Good - Ordered new seatbag, not going to let this happen again...........
April - Ride at Great Brook
Nuetral - Nice morning so just a tshirt/shorts so for first time since losing them I put the keys in the new seat bag
Nuetral - Checking bag zipper several times throughout the ride, OK...
Bad - Get back to car and ..... Bag stitching came out on the bottom and .. you guessed it, the keys fell out!! Uggggggg. I can't believe the stitching came out on the ride I have my keys there!!
Nuetral - Did remember kicking up a rock that caught my eye on Tophet that I want to check on but no time today
Good - Had the spare key made and got to work OK
Lucky - Next day rode again and where I saw what I thought was a rock kick from my wheel the day before was actually my keys and found them on the side of the trail!!!!!!
So, I had an interesting mix of bad/good luck with the result of no lost keys but a fear of Great Brook rides....
Hopefully tomorrow will bring a road ride....
