Beginners ride

Starting Thursday april 20th SCNH will be hosting a weekly begginers ride series in Minefalls Park in Nashua. It will meet at 6:15 and go as long as daylight allows. We will ride at a reasonable pace and work on basic riding skills. "No one will be dropped" Helmets are required, water is highly suggested. Please feel free to E-mail Nhiker@comcast.net if you have questions.
We will meet at the stadium parking area off of 111 exit 5w.
Weill have guest ride leaders all hoping to share thier skills with us.

We will be in Mine Falls Park tonite at the Stellos stadium lot entrance at 6:15 we will be leaving by 6:30 for our Thursday night in the Park Beginner ride series. Please feel to join us. We welcome all levels but bare in mind this is aimed at helping out the beggining level rider develope skills. Helmets required water recommended.

The beginners ride scheduled for tomorrow 5/4/06 at Mine- falls Park in Nashua will be cancelled this week due to all the rain. Lets give the trails a chance to dry out. We will be meeting again on 5/11/06. We have had a very nice turnout so I hope to see everyone again next week at lets make it 6:30 pm now that we are getting some more sunlight.
Kids are welcome with a parent at this ride! Please just make sure they have a helmet and a decent bike.

Well I really hate to do this, but I walked Minefalls last night and it is soaked and sections are submerged. So I will regretfully cancel and keep my fingers crossed that after a few days without rain we will be able to ride next Thursday. I am sorry but lets keep some hope for a few dry days here. If not maybe we can do a beginners kayak ride!

The park is almost totally dry, there are a few wet/muddy spots, but should make for a good ride.

Harry's not going to be able to lead this week, but.....
Hmmm, it looks like rain is in the forecast for Thursday, so most likely the ride will be off. But if it does not rain, the ride will be on.
If you are using your windshield wipers, there is no ride.

If it's not raining, then meet at 6:30, on Thursday, in Mine Falls Park, at Stellos Stadium parking lot.

Hi All,

Well, it looks like another rainy Thursday, ::) so here's what I propose we do:
Whether it's actively raining or not, it'll be too wet to ride in Mine Falls, (not that the ride last week wasn't fun! ;D) so how about if it not raining or just a light mist, we ride the Nashua River Rail Trail. We can do some of the ATV trails that lead into Yudicky too if you want.

Meet: The rail trail parking lot off of Gilson Rd (directions below)
Meet at 6:15 ~ ride at 6:30
Bring: helmet, rain jacket

Directions:
Take exit 5w off the highway, rt3 in Nashua.
Turn onto rte 111a west/Main Dunstable Rd.
Go through three sets of lights.
From the last set of lights (at the intersection with North Eastern Blvd) head straight down rte 111 a west for approximately 2 miles. Turn right onto Gilson Rd.
Follow Gilson Rd down and around (maybe a mile?)and the parking lot is on the left.

Directions To Stellos stadium:

From the North:
Take I-93 South to I-293 South to Route 3 South (Everett Turnpike) to Exit 5W in Nashua. Take a right at the light at the end of the ramp. At next light (200m), take a right. The stadium is the first entrance on the left.

From the South:
Take I-95 or I-495 to Route 3 North (Everett Turnpike) to Exit 5W in Nashua. Exit ramp merges onto road one way. Go straight through light. At next light (200m), take a right. The stadium is the first entrance on the left.

From the East or West:
Take Rt 101 towards Manchester. Follow Rt 101/293 to Rt 3 South (Everett Turnpike) towards Merrimack/Nashua (Toll Road). Follow Rt 3 South through Bedford Toll Booth and through Merrimack. In Nashua, take Exit 5W. Take a right at the light at the end of the ramp. At next light (200m), take a right. The stadium is the first entrance on the left.

It's raining pretty good out there now, so it'll be too wet in Mine
Falls Thursday, so the Beginner Ride will be moving to the Nashua
River Rail Trail.

If it is not raining Thursday evening.....
Where: Nashua River Rail Trail
Time: meet 6:15 ride 6:30
Bring: helmet, water, bug spray

Take exit 5w off the highway, rt3 in Nashua.
Turn onto rte 111a west/Main Dunstable Rd.
Go through three sets of lights.

If you're coming from the south, you'll merge off the exit onto 111w, get over to the left asap and turn left on to 111a west/Main Dunstable Rd.

Stay on 111a west, you'll pass Dunkin Donuts, 7/11 & the Shell station on your left. From the Shell station it is a straight shot down 111a west for about 2.7 miles.

The enterance is on the right, directly across from Gregg Rd. There is no sign, look for the Soft Ball fields.
