Even though this is still "Tentative", please mark your calendars - GBNEMBA should be receiving approval for this and all the trail maintenance days in the Fells very shortly from the DCR.
WHAT: FELLS Trail Maintenance Day #1
WHEN: Saturday April 8th, 2006 @ 8:30am
WHERE: Meet at Sheepsfold Parking Lot
THE 411: This will be a trail assessment and light maintenance event. We will split into 4 groups and each group will hike approximately 1.5-2 miles of the NEMBA Loop to assess trail condition after the winter, note any large-scale damage, clear blow-down, minor brush-back work, pick up garbage, and repair signage. This is a great way to get involved and give back to the trails without having to do any heavy lifting or getting too dirty.
This project will require 4 certified Trail Crew Leaders (TCL's Please RSVP to Tim Post) and 16+ Trail Crew - no experience necessary / will train.
Bring work cllothes, gloves, eye protection, water and sturdy hiking shoes.
