Hi Kirk - there's a group of us going out at 10 from "the dirt lot on the left on Harold Parker Rd. (from the State police barracks)", wherever that is. Maybe join forces?

Hi Rob,
Thanks for the info. At the moment, its me and two other guys. So depending on what they feel like and if many (any) others show up, we may head your way. Otherwise, maybe will cross paths on the trail.

We had a great ride today. The three of us that met at the Jenkins lot ended up riding over to the other lot and meeting up with Rob's group. There were a ton of people riding at HP this morning, kept running into groups of riders out on the trail.
I didn't do a very good job of taking pictures. Here is the only decent one, Brian stopped on top of a rock before rolling it. This is the boulder between the 2 boardwalks on the new unabomber trail.

What kind of riding is there at HP? I read some reports that it is kind of mellow but the rock pic suggest otherwise. Something I read said that it didn't have much in the way of rocks/technical stuff but maybe I just read the wrong info??
It isn't that far away so I think it will have to be added to the hit list..

HP is definitely not mellow. It is technical cross-country riding with plenty of singletrack. The singletrack has lots of obstacles, so the pace isn’t very fast. However, there really isn't any free ride, large drop type features within the forest. The rock in the picture is one of the more technical features. HP is a confusing place to ride if you don’t know it. I’d suggest joining a group ride and NS NEMBA holds an arrowed ride every year around Halloween.

Great, thanks.
That is actually the terrain I like the best. I don't do the big drops and like the technical stuff a lot (Probably mroe as I get better!!). I will have to hook up with a ride.
