Again, the plea for ride leaders at this great event......we'd like at least one family/kids ride, a couple of beginner and intermediate rides, and one 'epic' .........

From today's eblast:
For camping, come after 12pm on Saturday. Make sure you bring everything you need since it's unsupported -- we'll try to have a nice bonfire for everyone under the stars. There is only an additional $15 charge to come spend the night.
Does this mean no reservations are needed, just show up?

Maybe just those expecting to camp out. The forecast is calling for lots and lots of rain through Saturday, with possible clearing by Sunday. Nembafest will certainly go on, although I'm not sure how susceptible that field is to flooding. Just be prepared to ride through lots of standing water on the trails. Hopefully the trail markers have a plan to avoid the northwestern section of the park entirely, which tends to get very flooded quite easily. Lets hope those guys get a window to even mark the loops. The 5 day forecast looks terrible.

That 'window' is still all fogged up at this moment--Bill Boles & I are planning on finishing up the markers on Friday morning, and we'll divert any really wet sections early Sunday morning.
At this time I'm not sure I have a bike to ride--my new shock needs a new air valve core, that's coming from Marzocchi, hopefully by Sat......

NEMBAfest is being cancelled this weekend because of rain. The meadow where the expo area was to be held is under water and the trails are very wet. We decided to cancel the event to prevent any damage to the trails. We regret any inconvenience. Our hope is to reschedule this event for sometime in the fall. Keep an eye on Singletracks and the website for more information.

Hey Folks:
I was a bit disappointed, but not surprised at the cancellation. You should have seen the water in a lot of areas like Harold Parker Forest where I live near. Thank God, such rains are not an every year thing.
Thinking about past events, I kind of like the idea of having NEMBAfest in the Fall, such as, September. To me, at least, that spreads the Mountain Biking season out rather than having events "crammed together". Anyways, hold your head up and lets just get out and ride.
