I'm not sure what size I'm looking for, but I'm 5'9" with a 30" inseam. I'd like to stay under $500 but could go higher depending on how much crap I want to take from my wife. ;D

Anybody have something out there which might fit the bill? I'm in the Seacoast area of NH.

Thanks,

Matthew

I've got a 54cm cannondale cross bike that is as new... looking to get a little more than 500 as the bike has less than 100 miles, but it might fit the bill... should be a decent size for you as well, i've got a post in the classifieds if you want to take a look, or i can forward photos as well... might be a good start though, more relaxed than a racing bike... anyways, just thought i'd throw it out there..

hmm, I've had other suggest getting a Cross bike too. What are the advantagtes? I'm guessing it is cost and sturdiness at the expense of being super light weight?

Thanks,

Matthew

Hey Phresh, Can't remember what size my Klein is, but I'm 5'7 with a 30" inseam. The stem might be a little short for you, but the bike is mint. The picture doesn't show my wheel upgrades, it has brand new silver Mavic ksyrium ssc sl's. I could meet you somewhere in Portsmouth if you want like to check it out. I'd like to get $800. for the bike, which may be more than you like to spend, buts it's still cheaper than wheelset alone. Its a good deal!

Matthew - if the bikes offered here don't pan out - keep scanning craigslist.org for possible road bike gems.

I would think you'd want a frame that is about 52cm (center of bottom bracket to center of top tube/seat tube junction) or for many brands that would be a 54cm center of bb to top ot top tube measurement.

I'm your same size and I'd ride a 53cm LeMond, a 54cm in a Trek, a 54cm in a Specialized.

I landed a super mint Serotta Colorado LT via craigslist for $600.00 - beautiful lugged steel frame and fork with a full Dura Ace group on it. So great bikes can be found out there!

Good luck!
