They cite the new Supreme Court as a reason they are trying this now/again.

Are you against state's rights or just against banning abortion?

I am for state's rights, for stricter controls on abortion, but against outright banning of it.

I also think its amazingly stupid that it's illegal to GET an abortion (according to this bill), but not illegal to perform one. What's up with that?

But if the state votes to outright ban it, THEN you would be against state's rights?

it's not about being against state's rights, it's about being against banning abortion. If the state voted to legalize slavery, I'd be against that too.

Are you comparing Roe V Wade to the Emancipation Proclamation?

Do you even live in South Dakota?

No, But I see you are going with the "if you're against the war, you hate our troops" logic.

I'm not trying to say abortion is good. There are many valid arguments of the "ban abortion" crowd. I just don't entirely agree with it.

I never understood the why this issue is so Black and white.

You have Ann Coulter and the religious right crowd on one side that would never have another abortion preformed in the United States under any circumstance. I never understood the religious right fever about this issue. If they are right and the mother is committing a murder in their god’s eyes, then that’s between God and the mother. If they believe in hell then they should believe God will straighten things out.

Then on the other side you have the Hillary crowd who would allow drive thru abortions for 14 years olds who can not legally consent.

There should be a grey area on this isssue

I think there should be no abortions for children under the age of 16 without parental consent, with an obvious court ordered exception in the case of incest.

There should be no abortions for mothers who have reached the 2nd trimester of there pregnancy. If they are too stupid to realize they are pregnant in the first trimester, or too stupid to make up there mind in the trimester they should lose the right to choose.

That's kinda how I feel. You need to allow abortions, but only under strict circumstances, and mainly only during the early part of the pregnancy, imo.

btw, Ann Coulter could never have an abortion. she used to be a man.

Right, cuz if they're that stupid, they should definitely be forced to raise children. Hey, DSS needs work too!

Yes, I have little doubt that the number of orphan/foster/abandoned children would reach crisis levels.

Maybe everyone that votes to ban abortion, should be forced to pay for and care for all these children?

Doesn't everyone help support them through taxes which we are forced to pay? No one has every given me the option to not pay taxes. MA does give me the option to pay additional taxes. I can only assume the bleeding hearts always do that.

Or we could use these children to do the jobs that American's don't want to do. The world needs chimney sweeps.

I'd love to see this go to the Supreme court. Whatever they decide, Bush will lose.

If the SC does not overturn Roe v Wade, the Dems will see it as a victory.

if they DO overturn it, the republicans will be in deep **** since only about 20% of americans favor a ban on abortion.

My guess is they just let the states decide on it.
