Not such a great time to be in CT. Slider and I aborted a ride at Case (3" of snow there) then drove over to Mansfield Hollow where there was maybe an inch of snow. I had more wardrobe malfunctions than Janet Jackson at 30 Super Bowls. I was at EMS yesterday and they had some unbelievable deals on clearance stuff. There was this really high-tech looking long sleeve wicking layer which I got at 75% off or something. I ignored my normal configuration for the thermometer (20 degrees and windy) and wore this extra layer underneath. What a mistake. I was sweating like mad. After a few further configuration changes ::) I ended up back with my normal set up and all was well.

The ride was a good snow ride, can't complain about getting out on a day like today! Thinner tires or more weight would have been good, I was floating on the snow while Slider seemed to get way more traction than I was getting.

At least you got out!! I got some of the basement cleaned up, which wouldn't normally be cause for interest, except it is clean enough that I can do a figure 8 down there around the stairs and table saw. Slow but good practice for tight stuff at least which I need. So I went for a nice .01-.02 mile ride.... Then I get dizzy....

Hopefully get out tomorrow if I can find the time. Sounds like it will warm up this week and compact some of the snow so later in the week should be pretty good.

Myself, Big T, and Johnny D got out in Foxboro. We rode from Johnny's house through the Foxboro Conservation land. Johnny felt a little wobble, and found that he had a few loose spokes. We tightened them and continued riding. We eschewed our usual route, and rode the trail less traveled (at least by us). We found many deep puddles that ha yet to freeze over. The consequence was the one person in our group running cable discs had her cables freeze.

The temp wasn't too bad, but the wind was a killer. We aborted the ride due to mechanical freezing.

I was in Foxyladyboro yesterday too and also had my cable discs freeze up a little. First 10 minutes were absolutely brutal due to windchill. Ride was aborted after 3 miles with a fatal mechanical. Good times.
