;D My father and I invented a new bike game. It is a combination of hockey and polo. The object of the game is to score while riding your bike with the hockey stick.
To play you need:
large smooth patch of ice-cleared off
studded tires-a must ;D ;D
hockey sticks and puck
a willingness to fall...
this game is tons of fun and can be played with many people. You may want to include a person without their bike who can't score to pass to other players.

Maybe radair will have a soft spot for the content of the picture, let's keep our fingers crossed.

Hell yeah, I'd do that. Could be dangerous - someone who pisses you off could literally get a stick in the spokes. Unfortunately those guys live like 4 hours away. I'll clear off a spot if anyone wants to come north for a game. Jean?
I need a helicopter. With bike racks.

Radair,
We could meet half way ...
Stick in the spokes was tempting if it weren't my kid I was playing against.
The toughest thing was when you hit the puck with the back tire. A certain fall!

Ha! Looks like fun! (and an excuse to drag out the old picture)
I'm in. :D

This photo is proof that I still have some semblance of a memory.
So, we need a venue, preferably one with riding nearby so the survivors can get a ride in afterward (or maybe beforehand?).
Any suggestions?

Game is off in the Valley for a now, it is going to be upper 40's today and tomorrow (with rain), which will render our ice patch into a slushy spot in the field.
Fun while it lasted!

Yeah, it's going to be more like March this week than like January. >:(
Well, if the conditions do get better, there is a small pond in an old sand pit here in Nashua that might work.

I'm pretty sure things will freeze up again.
That's the beauty of biockey, you don't need a smooth surface. And you could use, say, a dead turtle as a puck.

For bike-hockey you could always call the puck a "norman"
The play by play would go something like this...
"Radair passes the norman to hammerhead, hammerhead slides the norman to oldbroad, back to grnbkr for a one-timer.... the norman is in the net"

If the puck were an expired turtle, I believe we could count Allison out as official photographer of the event.
My folk's place on the lake in Chesterfield NH would be a great place once we freeze up again. Great riding in Pisgah afterward, and close enough for the NH and PV folks to have a nice match!
Lets watch the weather!

When we used to play this up on Lake Champlain we would move both brake levers over onto one side to make trackstands easier.

Ha! This is great!
We need to set up and Inter-Chapter Intermural league. The game could be played around a big bonfire on the ice and end when someone falls through or catches on fire!
.... well, maybe not!

So it is safe to assume that the doctor called it?

Oh, hell no. Michael will hang on to that thing until the smell permeates the upstairs apartment and the neighbors complain.
But this thread is about biockey, and I'd suggest no goalies are required. But you can still play.

I do have a pond next to me at a little elevation so there would be less climbing to ride the snowmobile trails, there is still plenty of climbing to be done by those who get 5 minutes in the sin bin.

::)
hint
I have found that using the front break works best because stopping distances are made shorter.
have fun ;D
how about a additional fund raiser!
