Just wanted to say, great article on photo taking on rides. Some great tips in there!

One tip maybe I can add is regarding "shutter lag". Many cameras have a pre-focus feature where you can press the shutter button half-way down. This will focus the lens and power up the CCD for as long as you half press the button. This reduces the shutter lag from 500mSec to 5mSec in many cases.

You may have already known this, but I bet there's at least a few that didn't. I know it was over a year before I figured that out on my camera. Now its much easier to get that action shot the first time.

Good tip and one I should have mentioned, pre-focusing will minimize the shutter lag.

Of course, if you accidentally hit the button and it focuses on wrong thing, you can end up with really bad results... ;D

Come on, there's absolutely nothing wrong with artistic pictures of brush/leaves/or twigs with mountain bikers in the background! ::)
