Well I have been itchingto ride and I went to the Wennesday night ride , Joe and Milford Bike had for Vietnam at 6:30 by wendy's. so a little befor e 6 I hopped on my Bike and rode to the start. met up with with every one , we were a group of 7 all with studded tires and they were definatly needed.

I also Decided to break out my New Sidi Boots ( Thanks Couch )
They are not the warmest but they worked relly nice in trudging through Snow , none got in the boot.

at this point I decided to take a shorter way back home and parted company and tehn Headed out the other side of the woods to get home. Going over a Small part of a swamp wherethe ice was not as think as would have been nice .

I think the recent winds have left a lot of sticks down. I broke two der hangers in the last two rides - $60 cha-ching!

Hey looks like a nice ride. Your picture looked exactly what happend to me a few weeks back, same stick situation, same purchase of a der. when I got back...... I was close enough not to need to single speed it to get out though.

How were the studs on the rocks there? Went riding again today at Dracut and, while not as good as yesterday due to the wamth a lot of singletrack exposed so it was great. But the one guy who had the Nokians would have more trouble slipping on the rocks. So I am leaning towards not worrying about studs for a while..

Another note, on some of the fireroads that were loaded with ice, I was basically able to keep up with the studded rider with Panaracer Fire XC. As long as I didn't need to turn. The other guy had a more aggressive tire (I think the Spike) and was all over the place....
