This note below went out on FOMBA's yahoo distribution list. I wanted to share the info with other cyclist outside of the FOMBA loop. Singlespeed Dave took the the lead on this program about three seasons ago and has been doing pretty much all of the work with very little help needed. Great job Dave, i know your reading. Dave is looking to extend the program into the spring and summer months. If you have a bike to donate to the program, please contact Dave Mazalauski korki@comcast.net

Subject: [FOMBA] Bikes for Kids update

Wednesday Carl and myself delivered 8 bikes to the Outreach Center for
distrabution. Today I did a follow up call regarding the outcome of
the distrabution. It was 8 bikes delivered and 8 bikes distributed.
Thanks goes out to Carl, Carlo, Jack, Mike and Pete Fombians all
whosed used bikes are truely used bikes.

Thru many hours of fixen and replacing chains, cables, cable housing,
brakes, wheels, tyres, seats, seatposts and assorted goodies from
the "Old Farts Used Parts" my total out of pocket expence was 80 cents.

The folks at the Outreach Center itself 1st only wanted 5 bikes due to
storage problems, hence I waited until distrabution day. As of that
day they still only wanted 5 bikes. Thru my persistance and promise to
store what they couldn't after distrabution we ended up with 8 bikes
at the Center. Today it's a win win situation with more to come. What
I proposed the them was "Spring for Bikes". In April I plan on
bringing more bikes and keeping them supplied with at least 4 bikes at
most times thru October. We all know thats the best time for riding,
well that is except me, more ice biking today for me. I now have 2
bikes all studded up. My old beat up trusty ss and my 8 speed Access
and with the daylight gettin longer means Springs right around the
conner so I gotta get out for more ice biken.
