Slider, DNA and myself went out for a ride today. Unfortunately the crust wasn't near thick enough to hold us up. This made for a very tough (though somewhat short) ride. I'm hoping things will be better next weekend.

Bummer...about how much snow under the crust was there?

Off trail there's maybe 5" of light snow under the crust, much less than that on the trail. The snow was more like loose corn snow under the trail, but still you lost enough traction to make it very difficult. I'll bet my rear tire did about 3x as many miles as my front. Sometime I'm going to test that theory on a snow ride, put a computer on the back wheel and one on the front, see what the difference really is.
Don't get me wrong though - we had a great time, it was a nice day and felt good to get out in the fresh air with good friends.

The trails in Mine Falls Park were sort of bumpy from all the foot traffic, but that didn't matter because it feels so good just to get out!

Oooh, is that as firm as it looks? Because it looks really good.
Gotta love your attitude, Jean!
