The bostards! Next thing, they'll be screwing up the whole economy, taking food right out of the mouths of poor, helpless Halliburton babies by objecting to no-bid contracts. Have they no shame?

I like 90% of all Americans celebrate Christmas but I’m far from religious. But why should Christians feel like they have to say “Happy Holidays” to remain PC. What holiday are you talking about? Its Christmas…Merry Christmas. How are you not being inclusive by wishing an Islamic, Jewish, an agnostic person Merry Christmas. As a kid I grew up in a largely Jewish neighborhood. I can remember some of my friend’s parents wishing me a Happy Hanukkah and me replying Merry Christmas. There was no malice. There was no thought to attempt to force beliefs on the other person. It was a simple greeting that said, “I’m thinking of you.” When does this catering to a small minority end? Easter bunny is going to be holiday bunny; the menorah will become the holiday candle. The majority celebrates these holidays; if you’re in the minority too bad, go to work if you want. Just shut up. What’s next? Thanksgiving is going to be next. Who exactly are we thanking anyway?
I love that Lowe’s sells holiday trees, but I looked everywhere and I can’t seem to find a holiday tree stand.

Just more political correctness gone amuck with this ridiculous anti-Christmas movement. It's only going to get worse over the years. But Fox is going a tad overboard, don't you think, rych? I am not religious either, a lapsed Catholic to be precise, but I am just as tired of the whining "persecuted" Christians as I am the whiney atheists whose agenda is merely to garner attention.

Of course they are going overboard. I think Fox news talk shows are catering to people with an agenda, I just happen to fall into their core audience. I think Fox, is fair and balanced when reporting news, but their Talk shows no doubt lean right. CNN on the other hand leans left all the time. See X over the vice presidents face. People say the country in deeply divided. I disagree. I look at the rating for these two networks. I don't think the last two presidential elections are representative of how a majority of Americans feel. I think it was a case of a weak Republican squeaking by. Going against a Democrat who thinks American solders are terrorist certainly help the weak republican win.

I'm an atheist who insists on saying Merry Christmas, specially in response to someone wishing me 'happy holidays". I also say 'god bless you' when people sneeze, and 'thank god' when I crash and narrowly avoid impaling myself on something.
Overly PC jackasses bug me almost as much as religious zealot jackasses. ;)

Quote from John Kerry on Face the Nation last Sunday....
"And there is no reason, Bob, that young American soldiers need to be going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night,
terrorizing kids and children, you know, women, breaking sort of the customs of the--of--the historical customs, religious customs."
So this is another Kerry said but didn't really mean it statement?

Time for all to take a page from Seinfeld and just celebrate Festivus....
Celebrated December 23rd each year.
The Meal: What ever you want
During the last few weeks in December when Festivus takes place, families and friends get together at the dinner table and have something called "the Airing of Grievances". Durning this time, we share with family and friends all the ways they had disappointed over the past year.
After the Airing of Grievances, we get together right in the same night to do something called "Feats of Strength". This is where the head of the household tests his/her strength with another friend or family member. The great honour is given out to a different person each year.
Now for the pole. No it is not a tree. A pole, no decorations. Frank Costanza believes that tinsel is very distracting so there are no decorations. The pole is tall, silver, hollow, long, skinny, and heavy.
;D ;D ;D

The story of Festivus
Frank Costanza: Many Christmases ago, I went to buy a doll for my son. I reached for the last one they had, but so did another man. As I rained blows upon him, I realized there had to be another way.
Cosmo Kramer: What happened to the doll?
Frank Costanza: It was destroyed. But out of that a new holiday was born . . . a Festivus for the rest of us!
Cosmo Kramer: That must've been some kind of doll.
Frank Costanza: She was.
Comedy gold!

My earliest memories of Christmas are similar to Ralphies in A Christmas Story. No I'm not that old but my point is how far we've come from those days. Now were suppose to believe that that was all wrong. That's not politically correct anymore. Funny but things were a lot less screwed up in those days if you ask me. Is it the fault of liberals? Not necessarily. It's the fault of spineless politicians who are afraid to stand up to those special interest groups who are attempting to unravel all our traditions. And think about it, most of those politicians and special interest groups that I'm talking about are usually cut from the liberal / Democratic cloth. Look at mayor Menino in Boston. The lighting of the Christmas tree was advertised as the Holiday tree... until he got some heat for it.

So If you were an 8 year old Iraqi boy, and this was happening to you, would you not be terrorized? If your parents were shot dead in front of you for failing to slow down at a check point, would you not be terrorized?
This is a typical republican maneuver of blaming a democrat for stating the truth, instead of acknowledging that it's TRUE.
Try looking up "warmonger" and "murder" now.

If I know somebody is a Christian, i say "Merry Christmas." If I dont' know, i say "happy holidays."
If someone said "happy chanukah" to me, I would not be insulted, I would be honored somebody included me in their religious holiday.
When somebody calls it a "holiday tree," that is just plain retarded, because it's a Christmas tree. Just like you don't call a menorah a multi-candled festive holiday decoration.
What's funny about Fox is that O'Really and others keep complaing about "happy holidays" and "holiday tree", etc, calling it a 'war on christmas', But when you go to their website, they sell "holiday ornaments"

I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a Christ-free winter solstice, upcoming on 12/21. Before it was expropriated by the latecomer man-worshipping Christians, the true nature of the solstice rites was to honor the gods that bring the end to winter and the rebirth that arrives with spring.
As mountain bikers, what could be more important than the end of winter and the lengthening of days? Happy solstice to you all. Please consider joining me for a naked dance round the bonfire on this most important of holidays. No cameras, please. ;D
