Slider and I took KTMSX on a snow ride at the Snip today. KTMSX is fairly new to MTB, but has the skills from MXing. We had a blast running through the snow. It was one of those great rides where the downhills become a smooth ride through the woods. We tried (to no avail) to avoid hillls and water. By the end my bike was pretty much encased in ice.
All in all a great ride, it was not easy to have a good attitude, but KTMSX hung in there to the end.

nice pics....I am still amazed at how good you can hook up ...I was on my way there, thinking I would probably go a few hundred feet and crash a thousand times ..I will be putting on some miles this winter...thanks for the invite....Paul...

I love riding in the snow, as long as it's not too deep. Big fat tires do well if there isn't too much snow, or it is relatively hard, else I put the studs on and pedal.

It doesn't take too much more snow than what we had yesterday to make it a disaster. The type of snow makes a huge difference as well. Heavy, wet snow is fine, as is hard pack. The worst is crusty snow with fluffy snow underneath. We did a ride last year in crusty snow, pretty much the same route we did yesterday, I'll bet we were pushing 50% of the time. ugh. Cold feet, no pedalling. It was hard to walk away from that ride with a smile.

Nice John, I am guilty of not taking advantage of the latest storm yet, maybe if I were not charged with the task of clearing the roads i'd have more time. Nice shots.
