New or Used Nick?
Why not something from the UK like an On-one Inbred??

Steel or carbon are my preffered frame materials for a rigid SS. The beating on the back can be brutal with some aluminum frames and you're gonna use your lower back muscles a lot more powering up hills. My aluminum frame converted SS was super stiff and fast but not as rideable somewhere super tech for too long (like 2 - 3 hours). If you can fit a big rear tire (the Soul should fit one I believe) it'll take some of the edge off the aluminum frame. That's how I deal with my Jamis and Chameleon frames. Look at Surly, On One or Redline are nice (though the Redline is BMX spaced in the rear, not a big deal but unless it's spread to 135mm you're stuck with BMX width hubs, of which there are plenty). For more $$ look at Gunnar, IF, Kelly, Soulcraft, Sofaking etc, etc.

Thanks guys. Like the look of the On One, but the Soul Cycles has the word 'hooligan' all along the side. Me likes...

The on one has the word "Inbred" on the side, and a picture of said "Inbred" on the seat tube. I have one, and I love it!!! It's very neutral feeling - does everything from super tech to fast swoopy to climbing to descending without trouble. Plus, the new ones are designed to fit up to a 125mm fork. I recommend the rigid, though. Handles like it's on frikkin' rails. Or, you could go with a Gunnar Ruffian from Level Components cheaper than you'd think for Handmade in the US Reynolds 853 and True Temper OX Platinum steel goodness....
