Has anyone used a Easton Carbon riser (XC) on their SS? I don't see many in the pics but I was thinking of adding one to mine. Any reason not to other than $$?

The downside to carbon is that it doesn't bend, just breaks. It is what is called a catastrophic failure.

I ride them.
They are XC bars, not DH/FR. Keep that in mind.
If they get dinged, you should replace them.
Do not overtighten your levers or you can ding them.
Also take a file or some sandpaper and just go around the inner edge of your lever clamps to make sure there are no sharp edges. Takes a second.
These bars have come way down in price. I just got a new set. They do not last forever if you crash a lot and ding them up.
But they save weight and look nice. But not for everyone.

That looks like someone might have tightened the controls down too much. That also looks like it may be a freeride bike they are mounted to.
I do not run them, but there are a lot of happy customers. The guy I ride with runs azonic CF risers on a rigid single speed with 1.95 tires, and he is on the far side of 200 pounds. He has not had any problems with his bars.
