29ers and SS like Fred and Ginger (or Pop rocks and Coke)?

Thought I'd put this before the ss faithful--someone told me that 29ers and singlespeeds are the perfect combo (by way of suggesting I buy a gary fisher RIG) others are not so convinced--what do you guys say---are you rolling big wheels?

I am on small wheels, but that is because that is what was within my budget and what was available to me when I purchased the bike. There are a lot of guys riding 29er single speeds over at the mtbr forums that could answer some specific questions. For what its worth the winner of the ss world championships was on a GF rig.

just got back from a ride! i've got a 29er and don't see ever going back to 26er wheels, in fact just sold my fs 26er. To be fair though i never ss'ed on a 26er so i can't really do an apples to apples comparison.
