The North/South Trail post reminded me - there's an intersection at F Gilbert (Foxboro) that has a sign that points to RI. I'm not sure if it specifically mentions what part of RI.
Anyone know anything about this trail? Is it rideable? Worth trying? Thanks.

I've taken it, ('bout 5 years ago) and it runs down to the Cumberland RI area. I honestly don't remember wery much of the actual route we took, (another friend was leading) I do remember a bunch of sections where we hads to cross through either private homeowners land, and I remember we had to circumnavigate around wrentham village outlets(which was difficult). I cant remember the trail name right now...it is doable, but not all of it will be on "singletrack" per se. Some of it is used by Moto quite a bit too (mostly the wrentham area), just an FYI...
edit: I remember now - It's the Warner Trail (http://www.amcsem.org/maps/warner.jpg)

I have tried hiking this trail as recently as two years ago. I must have gotten lost three times while going through Wrentham alone. The trail is poorly marked in several areas. I finally gave up and returned after walking aimlessly about looking for blazes. Never even made it as far as the Outlets.

Yeah, the Wrentham part was the most difficult to navigate for sure. I remember crossing through a golf course that was under construction, wondering how they would accomodate the trail users (if at all) - cant imagine it's any fun crossing it now - I guess you could yell "FORE" and sprint across the green....
Also, once we were through the wrentham part, the RI part was fun (lot's of rocky twisty sections).

Hmm. Sounds like if I've got many hrs to ride on a Saturday, there's better places to explore.
Do you guys know if the trail connecting Foxboro to Wrentham State Park is any good? Would this be part of that same trail? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure it does. I do know it starts/ends in Canton MA, goes through Sharon MA, over to Foxboro, through to Wrentham then on to RI

Its called the Warner Trail. Some excellent technical single track. When I lived in North Attleboro I used to ride this trail 3 times a week good stuff. It starts at Diamond Hill in Cumberland RI. We were able to follow it all the way to the other side of the Gillette Stadium in Foxboro. It spits you out in some neighborhood and we couldn't pick it up after that. A lot of fun. I haven't been on it in a year. Now I have the urge to ride it again.

The Warner Trail runs From Canton Junction, Canton MA to Diamond Hills State Park in Cumberland RI.
All but one short section in Sharon, MA, (an Audubob sanctuary), is open to Bikes. For a good map try a recent Appalachian Mountain Club guidebook.
Oh! It was recently extended to the top of Big Blue in the Blue Hills, (Milton MA). But I'm not sure how well, or if, that section is arrowed.
