I posted this on teh single speed forum last week.

I ride with a sweep crew for the VT 50, and we are looking for a couple of more riders to round out our crew. We sweep 13 miles of the race, then we can ride the rest of the course on our own. As a sweep you need to be willing to take signs down, pick up trail debris, carry some signposts, and have a good time with the rest of us. If you are interested in joining our little band of merry men and women drop me a private message with your e-mail, and I will e-mail you back.

Remember, the VT 50 is for a good cause. So you will not only be out there having fun, you will be giving a little back to society.

Cheers,

SSnoob

I'll be running the 50k, but i might have some more juice in the tank to do some sweeping afterwards :o. Ok well probably not, but i could help somehow. I figure i'll finish around 7-8hrs so that gives me 4-5 hours before the cut off. When do you guys start sweeping?

Hello Felix,

First off congratulations on committing to run the race, and good luck with your run.
Thanks for your offer. We start sweeping at 7:30 AM, and finish a couple of hours after that, so I do nto think you will be off the course in time to help us. In the past we have also driven around after our sweep to pick up the piles of signposts we pull during the sweep and some of the larger signs along the roads. If you want to do something after your run to help out, just look up the race director: http://www.vermont50.com/html/contact_us.html He organizes the volunteers for other sections of the race.

Good luck on your run,

SSnoob
