It appears brandeis is letting students at Tulane and other surrounding colleges that have cancelled classes for the remainder of the year to attend Brandeis for free. They aren't giving these people campus housing, but my housemates and I are letting people stay in our house.

Funny you should mention that - I was half wondering earlier tonight if there was a way I could help someone out a place to stay. Sounds like the Brandeis effort is geared towards helping out students who are from this area that were attending school down south though? - I would kind of rather try to help out someone in a tougher situation, maybe someone with kids.
It's good to see people coming through like that though. If anyone hears of more efforts like this, please post them. All those people are going to need places to go.

Not necessarily kids in the Boston area. For someone who never lived up north, this would be a good chance to check out a different part of the country.
MoveOn.org is also coordinating a huge housing push.

25,000 people have donated Beds, pretty impressive.

there is some sort of grassroots movement afoot, but i forgot the link. basically it was private citizens offering up lodging for displaced families, cool idea but i'd definitely want to define the end game before i signed on.
