Harpoon-Topeak MTB Adventure, Cyclocross Race and EFTA Championship Landmine
Classic @ Wompatuck State Park, Sept. 10-11

The penultimate Harpoon-Topeak ride, presented by Dirt Rag Magazine, will
offer a smorgasborg of riding and racing fun. On Saturday, Harpoon-Topeak
riders will enjoy riding the EFTA Championship race cource, with additional
hero sections thrown in! After the ride, come spectate or try your hand at
a Cyclocross race. The riding is fast and furious, and since the course is
short and ridden with multiple laps, it's great for seeing all the action.
In the evening, hardcore riders can put on their night riding gear and take
part in an expert level 30-mile night ride epic.

Come back on Sunday for the Landmine Classic, the Championship EFTA race,
promoted as a NEMBA benefit by Bikebarn. There is even free camping
available Saturday night!

Boston Bicycle Festival, Sept. 25th

NEMBA is one of the organizations supporting Hub on Wheels, a city-wide bike
ride and festival, beginning and ending at Franklin Park in Boston. The ride
celebrates neighborhoods, cultural diversity, and architectural beauty. Come
share and enjoy Boston as a welcoming community in which to live and work.
Come by yourself, as a family, or with a team!

NEMBA members can recieve a 40% discount if you type in the following promotional code during the registration process: nemb1. A $1 donation will be made to MassBike's advocacy efforts for every registration.

The citywide ride begins at 7am, with loops of 15, 25, or 40 miles around
Boston's hidden wealth of parks, harbor walks, river greenways, and
neighborhoods - all with rest stops and full technical/medical support.
After the ride there will be a post-ride celebration for everyone (whether
or not they did the citywide ride) from 11 AM to 3 PM, will have tricks by
highly skilled riders of HiWheels, BMX bikes, and mountain bikes, a two mile
family fun ride on closed paths, a tricycle parade (led by a marching band),
food, music, arts, informational workshops and vendor booths.

You're invited to participate in the first annual HUB ON WHEELS citywide
bike ride and festival on Sunday September 25, 2005! Details here:

Attend a NEMBA Trail Care Day Near You!

Mountain bikers giving back to the trails they ride is key to our success in
protecting our access. The hidden truth is that these events are full of
fun, camaraderie and personal reward. We guarantee that you'll never ride a
section of trail the same once you've worked to improve it. Since all the
events are led by trail experts, you don't need any experience to attend.
You'll learn a lot, meet new friends, and feel satisfied that you're part of
the solution. If you've never been to one of our events before, check one
out before the season's over.

Help Us Grow NEMBA's Voice

According to an Outdoor Industry Assocation survey, nearly 1.8 million
people in New England rode mountain bikes on singletrack trails 14 or more
times a year. Some may question the numbers, but one thing is for sure: the
vast majority aren't NEMBA members. We urge you to help NEMBA continue to
grow by asking your friends and riding buddies to get hooked up with the
association. Word of mouth is one of the primary reasons people support
organizations such as ours, so please help spread the word

Top Ten Reasons to Join:
1) Protect MTB Trail Access
2) Build Great Singletrack
3) Join NEMBA on over 1000 rides
4) Gain Political Clout-Add your Voice
5) Promote more Mountain Biking
6) Discounts at most Bike Shops
7) Get SingleTracks Magazine
8) Meet other Mountain Bikers
9) Protect Open Space and Trails
10) Have More Fun on your Bike!
Tell your friends they can join online here:
