Is there any one out there using bob trailers to haul tools in for trail building and maintainence? Any pictures or ideas for tool racks etc.
thanks Calvin weeks

Yes, these things rock. They will track behind you on singletrack so well you can't believe it. Until you hook a McLeod on a tree or rock anyway.

I made my racks similar to the Kurt Loheit/IMBA model:

But mine attach with a few zip ties for quick installation/removal.

yeah there is, and they rock

just jam your stuff on the bob trailer any damn way
you want to, just make sure nothing jams in your
back wheel or hooks bushes...and ride the wheels
off it.

they are real good at not screwing up your
ride.

Hi there R I M,
Wait 'til you drag a chainsaw around with that thing. You won't believe what kind of single track you and that trailer will handle..as long as you got the legs and skills.
And when you do, I suggest you use a case , and tie it down with a couple of bungies and you're good to go. Just watch your speed on the big hits. And thanks for using it for trail work.

Recent rough service in Borderland trashed my "tool rax" - so I fabricated some out of 20" rims and tool holders from home depot. They work better than the tool rax IMO...also in this pic, I have a rear rack - it's an experiment - I've used it once for a rack pack - I had it laying around, and figured I'd put it to good use for small tools, gloves cell phone etc. A heavy load there could make things a little top heavy, so it may go...

Heres a Link to what it used to look like LOADED (http://www.nemba.org/yabbse/attachments/IMG_0004_Medium.gif)...or shall I say overloaded (now I know why the tool rax broke) - 4 solid rock bars, a mattocks, shovel, chansaw and misc other stuff. Still leaps and bounds better than walking that stuff in

A great idea for using old bent rims. Was going to build my trailer today. Like the idea of the tool holders mounted on the rim. Will see if I can get something put togeher and post a picture .
thanks again Calvin Weeks

I don't know, I think my bike just broke the 43lb threshold. Beside you know how much I like finding my shortcuts through the woods.
