Well, I went to Pedro's and picked up my frame, with the headset pressed in and the crown race set. I brought all the parts that I had aquired for the build, and set to assemble the bike.

I mounted the stem and handle bar and installed the brake levers and grips. I then realise that I can't finish the build, because I have no brake housing for routing the rear brake cable. Anyway, I install the rear wheel and removed the largest and smallest chain rings and mounted the 32 tooth on the outside of the crank. I left the front derailer on, because it makes the chainline perfect. I will "modify" the derailer later.

I purchased a Surly Singleator to tension the chain, but when I measured the chain, I found that it fit perfectly without the singleator. I got lucky. I install the cartridge brake pads that I had lying around, and checked everything that I could.

When the Expo opened, I rode my Cake to the expo and went to the Wheelworks tent and asked if they had any brake housing. They were kind enough to give me about a foot, and that is what I needed to finish the bike. I return to my campsite, and finish assembling the bike.

Now for the porn:

That bike is a beauty. So cool that you did all of this at Pedro's. Is that the Greatland canopy from Target? ??? I think I rode by your place and I was wondering how the canopy holds up for $99.

Hey Pedro's is the best place to build a bike I think, all the vendors you need are right there. ;D

That canopy is a Coleman and my crew got it from BJ's for $50.

I had most of the bike ready, I had the wheels built, and brought all the parts I needed for the build. I have since "modified" the front derailer and it is now just a spacer for the cranks to make the chainline work.
