Just this week I seem to have come upon my worst nightmare A cracked frame. I broke a weld right under the seatpost at that little brace bar at the top of the seatstays. My bike is a fisher Aqulla I am the second owner. Bike is about 5 years old. I took it to goodales nashua to see about warrenty replacment but the kid (rance) at the service desk tried to be helpful but did not have a lot of info to share. can anybody share anything with me. Justbill u out there?

I cracked my frame in the fall. I called the manufacturer (Titus) directly to set up the warranty repair. It took about 3 1/2 months to get my new front triangle. Since I was the sole owner and the warranty had not yet run out, I'm not sure how applicable this is to your situation.

Unfortunately, I think that you'll be out of luck trying to get it warranteed. Most mfg's don't warrantee frames longer than 3 years.

I think that your bike being an entry level (I think) bike, the warrantee would expire at change of ownership.

I may be wrong. Send an e-mail to Fisher and see what they say.

maybe you could use this as an excuse to get a new bike? Especially if they would give you crash replacement pricing.

I think that I rode with you 2 years ago at blue hills mtb day, I was on a black cannondale back then.

I'm thinking with the age of the bike you might be SOL, but I'm not familiar with Gary Fishers warrantee either.
Probably time for a replacement.

Fisher/Trek has excellent warranty policies for frames, I believe it is lifetime for the ORIGINAL owner of the frame.

A friend recently got his GF Joshua frame warrantied, and it is about 9 years old, but he is the sole owner.

Sole owner or not you'll be most likely be offered something by Fisher. If the local shop/sales rep won't or can;t help contact the company directly. They may offer you a "trade up" kind of deal where they take something off a new frame at the least. I've yet to encounter the "original owner" clause - other than with real high end manufacturers (Titus, Ellsworth etc.). Most companies, especially the big ones whose bread and butter are entry level bikes will give you a break (no pun intended ::)). Good luck.

Yes i am here, though i know not how i can help.

My frame was broken inside of a year and i was the original owner and the shop took care of all the particulars.

Sorry. I do have a 21" Specialized hardtail i got out of a dumpster. You are welcome to it, I probably won't ever get it put back together after scavanging it for the Homegrown build.

How much do you want for the 21" frame?
I know someone who would like to get back into biking but needs a larger than 17.5" frame. Open to trade.
