Ok, so I want to convert my hardtail to SS at the end of this year's racing season. I've been looking at stuff and have noticed that the SS specific frames out there have vertical dropouts and eccentric bottom bracket shells w/ the BB installed.

1) Does anyone make an eccentric bottom bracket that works in a standard BB shell. I know I can use a chain tensioner, but the more Zen I can make this bike the better.

2) What diff for building and setup/use, with the standard drop-outs on my hardtail frame make?

Thanks in advance!

There aren't any ecentric BBs for regular bottom bracket shells, so you're going to have to stick to a singulator type of tensioner.... unless you're super luck and find that your choice of chainwheel and sprocket offer the perfect difference to run w/o one.

or use a White Industries ENO eccentric hub...

The ENO hub (eccentric hub) looks pretty cool, people seem to like them, would have to re-build your wheel.

Edit: AA beat me to it

Or, for wicked cheap you can get an awesome IRO Mia! with horizontal drops. Might be the same price as building/buying a nice ENO wheel... http://irocycle.com/id104.html From what I've heard, they are a ton of bike for the money, bombproof, and super fun to ride.

wow are those prices cheap! My ENO wheel was about $200. Frame & fork for $179 is unheard of.
