So, does anyone want to make this part of the SS ride series we've been holding? I'm leaning more towards attending this event than the MT TT in Worcester (30 second hillclimb vs. 2 + hour ride :-\). If enough folks want to do a SS ride at Great Brook (great spot for a fast SS ride) I'll head up for that one. Maybe meet around 9 - 9:30 or so and ride for 2 - 2.5 hours. Sound good to anyone else?

For some reason, I thought the Harpoon ride was on Saturday, so I scheduled my wifes b-day cookout for Sunday.
Damnit!

I'm interested, however I need to find out if I can make 9:30 start time...
The plan so far is my wife is planning to do a road ride starting early in the AM(from GBF), and I don't know when she'll be finishing. I'll probably arrive there sometime between 9 & 9:30AM (with the kids) to meet her, and I can be on my way from there, I just dont know whether it would be 9:30 sharp... if you know what I mean.

I'll be riding along in spirit with you guys. I'm helping out with that big Bear Brook ride that got scheduled for the same day. I'm riding ToT on Friday with my SS (rigid) and won't have time to get back home for the geared bike before BB, so I'll be riding the SS there too. I'm seriously dreading a couple of the trails out at BB....namely Catamount... :o

OK, I'll make a decision by tomorrow night whether I'm doing the Major Taylor TT or the Great Brook ride. The start time will be flexible for those interested in the SS ride.

I'll be there, bdee. Still haven't fixed up the gearie, so all rides are SS rides by reason of laziness! ;D

Allright, I'll be there for 9:30. CP I'll PM you my cell #. Just call and let us know what time you'll be there - we can always loop back. For anyone who doesn't know what I look like - I'll be the skinny guy on a rigid sparkly blue bike (converted SS). I'll plan on being at the registration area by 9 - 9:15.

You guys mind if I jump in on the SS ride? Just retro'd over to a SS and it makes GB a lot more fun. I just need to stop trying to shift. I should be able to make it for 9:30.

Hey, great ride yesterday followed by an even greater (at least I think; memory is a little cloudy) post ride party at the Westford Grill. Great food (the little bit I got that PK didn't scoff), excellent beer and an overall stellar time.
Many thanks to the folks at Harpoon and Topeak for the sponsorship.

Yes, great ride. That one big hill finished my legs off...I remember PK askin',"you guys make the big hill?" I was lucky to make it just past half way. I was otherwise pleased to be able to "hang on" - although the lactic acid "haze" I was looking through might have been making me "believe" I was hangin on.
Funny thing too, I remember getting an email from bdee telling me to "bring an extra set of lungs" 'cause Pk was joining us. I came prepared with the lungs, but my legs were another story ::)
I wish I could've made the Harpoon part, but my wife re-scheduled her road ride for 2 - so I had to go...hopefully next time.

That was a good time, the riding was great and the after party was fun. Glad to see Mert survived his dip in the muck and that we all emerged unscathed (except PK's cracked frame).

I had a good time for sure. IMO Great Brook is a perfect single speed location. Just enought climbing to make it a challenge without giving yourself a hernia and plenty of rocky rooty junk to keep you on your toes.
