Wendell Trail Work day: Saturday JUne 25

This Saturday there will be another Wendell Trail Work day...we'll be cutting a brand new trail....and unlike early trail building efforts, this will be more of a rake/lop/saw affair with some rock ramp feature enhancement and not a slime and rocky brush bushwhacking (i.e...easier!). We're hoping to get this trail completed, and the other trails punched up and groomed for the upcoming Harpoon Adventure Series ride so any help will be greatly appreciated. There will be a ride to follow.

We'll meet at 10:00am at the Park Headquarters

Bring the usual stuff..gloves, bug spray, water, cutting tools if you got 'em and a bike. Hope to see you all there...oh, and if you're just curious about Wendell but can't make it Saturday..come ride tonight (Wednesday June 22) at 6:15-20 from the Park Headquarters.

That's right saturday morning, Rain Or Shine' trail work....
Cutting a Brand new trail there are quite a few large boulders/obstacles and for the most part this will be a very fast rolling trail going down, and will be a nice realitivley moderate uphill grind with some nice climbing turns, and in a couple weeks upon completion some legal ramps to make it possible to climb up and over most of the boulders form the opposite direction. Be there no doubt- this trail will be rideable in both directions (just like Hannah Swarten's Remove). Total lentgh will likley be approx 1 1/2-2 miles.

Thanks for the clarification...people will begin to wonder why we keep luring so many to these remote woods... :o

Hey everybody Mark C. here,
Change in plans for the Trail Work Day. Originaly I was supposed to lead the crew from 8 am until Liam showed up at 10, now however there has been a change of plans, I have plans with the family to go camping (I got the next 2 weekends backwards).
The morning will now start at 10 am at the ranger station in Wendell Liam will be there waiting for all who attend with the appropriate tools. You may if you wish bring some of your own (rakes/loppers), but we should have enough tools for the job at hand.
good luck and have fun! I cant wait to see our latest creation when I get back.
