Not a ride -- a question...

Can someone reommend a nice trail for a quick (30-45min) ride very near Montpelier? I am going to be in the area a few times over the summer, but am only going to be able to get out for briefs periods of time.

You could probably find a book on New England bike trails on Amazon. In the book I have, it lists Roxbury State Forest which is about 15 miles south of Montpelier with parking on Rt. 12A 3 miles south of Roxbury. The ride is decribed as a 10-mile loop with a "variety of riding conditions." The last 3 miles is on paved road. ("Mountain Biking Northern New England" by Paul Angioillo"). You may also want to stop in at the LBS for some local trail maps. Have fun. I was headed to Vt. this weekend until by 6-year old broke her arm on the monkey bars yesterday afternoon (remember her -- the youngest member of SNEMBA at the meeting the other night?).

Thanks for the book recommendations. I will go and check them out. I did also find a great LBS in Montpelier, but didn't get to stick around for very long and they seemed busy... maybe next time I'm in town I will pick their brains.
