Now don't get all bent out of shape! It's not that we didn't expect it, but why now (right?). It's not permanent!

The long awaited demolition of additional buildings at Wompatuck is starting the week of June 13th. These buildings are primarily located off the first two paved roads on your left as you come into the park, thru the front entrance.
The first paved roadway on your left plus the paved roadway out of the first parking lot has been posted as CLOSED/NO TRESPASSING. Trails & roadways from the interior of the park system entering the construction area have also been posted.
Fencing has been put up in several places.
The roadways in the area will be used strictly by the contractor, his large bucket loaders, back hoes, dumps and trailers during this work.
Many of the trails in the affected area terminate at these buildings. The mix of MTBrs/hikers, etc and heavy machinery don't mix too good, especially when one doesn't see the other. The TRAILS and ROADWAYS have been CLOSED as a safety concern that is shared by both the DCR & the contractor.
Please abide by the postings.
If you find that some postings have been removed or are missing, contact the Park Supv., Steve Gammon, or another park employee. They will re-post the area.

WOMPATUCK TRAIL CLOSURE is for YOUR safety.

According to Steve Gammon, Wompatuck Park Supv, the demolition of the remaining buildings has been completed. The closed trals are now oped for use.
"We didn't get all the landscaping we had invisioned, no loam, no rare plantings, but the buildigs are now leveledand everything is safe. Trees and grass will be sprouting in a couple of years."
"Thanks to all for avoiding the posted areas, so work could be done without anybody getting hurt."
