Join NEMBA for National Trails Day
at Great Brook Farm State Park!

Saturday, June 4th, 8:30-12:30

This will be the first Merlin / NEMBA Trail Care Day at Great Brook, and it's going to be a doozie! We're building a 120' boardwalk across Tophet Swamp to connect the new Tophet Loop extention we build last year with the Pine Point Loop. We'll also be doing some trail construction, so there will be plenty to do.

When: Saturday, June 4th

Time: 8:30am --Please arrive early since we'll be pulling out at 8:30 promptly. Late arrivals can find us on the Pine Point Loop past the horse jumps.

Bring: Work boots (preferably waterproof), hydration pack, eye protection, long pants, workgloves, and plenty bug juice (did I mention we're working in a swamp?). Bring your bike too, if you want to ride afterwards.

Lunch will be provided.

Crew Leaders: Please let me know if you're available to lead small work details.

Do you have a pickup? Bruce will be helping transport lumber, but we have quite a bit, so if you're willing to help drive lumber to the Pine Point, please send me an email at philipkeyes@comcast.net. Note: my work email is down.

Directions:
Mass Pike to Rt. 128N. Take exit 31, to Route 225 West 7 miles to Carlisle center. Right onto Lowell St. at State Park sign, park is 1.5 miles on right. Go past North St. entrance for 1/2 block to XC Ski barn. Map to XC Ski Barn, Great Brook Farm SP

I'd love to come and help, but my daughters recital is that day.

That will be a great addition to the park.

Also, there is a tree down on Tophet Loop, western portion, needs chainsaw.
