Okay, I may be totally wrong, so feel free to correct me.

But, as far as I know, there was no law created that said "medicaid must pay for viagra for sex offenders."

The law simply said, "medicaid must cover viagra." That's all. Nobody thought at the time that maybe something should be done to keep sex offenders off this program.

There is no way for a doctor to know that he's filling a prescription for a sex offender, or for medicaid to know that one of it's subscribers is a sex offender.

So all it is is a loophole, an oversight, that allows these people to get free viagra. Some have decided to turn this into a "Clinton wants rapists to have Viagra!" thing.

again, I may be wrong...

No, you are correct. Problem is, besides there being a loophole in the system, we have "progressive" judges who are overly lenient towards such offenders. I am sure that they, along with the victims-advocate, scumbag defense attorneys, argue that there is some supposed violation of constitutional freedoms associated with there not being some kind of a sex offender red flag built into the computer systems for pharmacists.

Besides that, there is also the problem with the broad placement of the "sex offender" flag under the law. An 18 year old getting caught having sex with a 15 year old and subsequently being charged with statuatory rape gets placed in this group. I'm sure these aren't the ones buying Viagra, but it just shows another problem with the system.

I don't see why the most serious of sex offenders are not sentenced to be castrated. I suppose all of the same arguments against the death penalty apply.

Sometimes I think the "victims" advocates are just as bad as the offenders.

I would support that, but only in the extreme cases. I wouldn't support castration of a 30 year old guy who gets accused of date-raping a 30 year old woman, ya know? I know an overwhelming majority of women tell the truth, but some don't, and I'd hate for that poor guy to lose his peepee.

but then again, if some 30 yr old guy is found guilty (with copious evidence, if you know what I mean) of raping a 12 year old, i'd say just execute the bastard.

I agree that statuatory rape with say a 20 year old and a 16 might not constitute the death penalty or castration, but ALL OTHERS MUST DIE!. Even if we crush there nuts or sew up the gaps it will not stop these scum bags! I'm sure that its a loop hole in the law and they'll try to close it,but you watch some bleeding heart group will defend them saying they have rights too..

If I'm not mistaken, the law also says that anybody can be denied any medication. Or something like that.

I think that the law is pretty broad when it comes to labeling sex offenders. For instance, if one was caught and prosecuted for "messing around" with their date in a public place, would they be a convicted sex offender? Say you drink too many beers and have a 70's flashback moment and go streaking and get busted ...

I think sex offender means different things to andy two people you ask.

I say if you want to deter sex offenders, get them on a tandem with a Sella SLR saddle and some Pearl Izumi shorts for 5 or 6 hours. They'll need more than Viagra.
