My sons 8 1/2 and 7 want to see the new Star wars. My wife wants to take them today but is it appropriate? They have seen other PG and some but few PG13 The have seen the last two Star Wars on DVD. I don't mind if they see she does not mind but She is worried other people will say something.

Any comments??

Thanks

I too am protective of what movies my kids see. I went to see all the Lord of the Rings movies first before i took them.

This Star Wars installment is no worse then those. No real imitateable violence, unless you have a volcano in your neighborhood

Thanks

My two younger brothers saw it, they are 7 and 10 years old. It didn't really bother them much.

Also I know that my cousin (who is 11) saw it and he laughed at the volcano part as well as the "talk" between Obiwan and Anakin. He does laugh at everything though.

There are some lines that made me cringe, some because they are so wooden and others because they are so evil. ::)

My six year old daughter wanted to see it but my fifteen year old son who saw it said he thought it would be too violent for her.

I saw it last night with my son who is 19, and it is by far the most violent Star Wars film to date. If your kids have no issues with differentiating between movie violence, and real violence, then it should be ok.

There is one part where Yoda and Obi-Wan are discussing the killing of the younglings, but you never see any children being killed, only a short scene of a holographic battle.

Other than that, It is up to you. You are the parent, and it is ultimately your decision.

I find this site invaluable in deciding what's appropriate for my kids. The reviews are factual and truthful right down to counting how many F-bombs get dropped.
