Finished the build midnight on Friday, got a little, and I mean little, ride in on Saturday.

Will this rain and pathetic weekend weather ever break. I NEED to ride.

Here are a couple of pics.

Nothing like a brand new bike to recharge all those singletrack fantasies. Did you start with just the frame?

Nice bike! I know a few guys with 5-spots and they are super awesome frames. Very strong, light, agile, you name it. Among the best trail frames in existence today.

Weight? ;)

In general five spots seem to be about 8 pounds lighter than my Cowan ( no surprise there. Large frame with DJ3 fork and heavy components).

You won't be dissapointed. My riding improved immeasurably when I started riding my 5spot last year. It inspired confidence on technical descents, and climbs better than my hardtail. Of course going to 5" travel with a good fork will have an effect no matter what frame you have, but this one feels solid underneath, but comfy too. Mine has the romic coil (heavy) with Ti spring. I'd be interested to know how the Fox RP3 works for you.

Haven't had a chance to weight, I'd guess 28 - 30 range.

Any amount of riding improvement would be great for me.

I've aways prefered coil to air regardless of weight, but my first impressions are real good so far, real plush with almost a coil feel. All the reviews I read were quite favorable, but we'll see. I really haven't riden it really yet.
