well i got home from the skills ride tonight and noticed my front wheel jiggling around even with the qr tightened. the hub is a deore so its not really top quality so it might be worth it in the long run to replace it. what do you think?

Bite the bullet, get a new hub.

shimano uses cones for their hubs, and when you break these hubs in, you can loosen the cones. at your rate, i don't think you've woarn out the cones yet. jsut bring it in to get tightened and maybe even overhauled. it should only take about 10mins. this is a fairly common thing with new hubs. should only be $10 to fix at the shop. or you can just get some cone wrenches of your oen so you can take care of them yourself in the future. front hubs, hig tech hubs aren't as blatantly obvious as rears as far as tolerences, as the rear has the freehub mechanism. i vote get yourself a nice set of park cone wrenches and do it yourself. if i remember correctly, it's a 15mm cone wrench and 17mm reg wrench/socket/adjustable wrench. you can get away with using only one cone wrench but it's nicer to have 2.

Just bring it to the shop before getting an entirely new hub. I say bring it to the shop because I've been accused of adjusting my hub incorrectly ;D Deore hubs should be OK for a bit of abuse.

it turns out, the cones were a bit loose. but since my dad decided to take the hub apart against my wishes ive gotta go get it overhauled since the bearings are messed up.

Bearings can be a big pain, especially in newer hubs. Its lucky that it was just a cone being loose. I reinstalled my front wheel after getting it back from truing, only to find that it wobbled once in. It turns out that an axle was close to breaking and did when I closed the QR..
