My middle ring was spent, and I got a replacement at lunch.
The RF replacement is a ramp up style.

It's CNC machined with grooves and all, supposedly to help the chain transfer. First ramp ring I have tried. Any opinions?

Even with with grooves machined out, it's considerable beefier than the original ring.

I'll put it on tonight & check it out.

Well, I learned a couple things today.
The ramp ring has grooves which grabs the chain and puts it up on the bigger ring. Seems to work as advertised.

Here you can see the diff.

The other thing I learned is that there is a tab on the rings which should be aligned with the crank. In this pic you can see how I had the small ring on wrong.

That ring is flat, so not a huge deal, but I did correct it. It's more important with the ramp rings, as you would imagine.

Back in bidness now.
