RI NEMBA FUN RIDE MAY 22

Hi,

Our Spring Fun Ride is this coming Sunday. There will be self guided rides (arrowed) and there should be at least one led beginner ride. There will be a bunch of raffle prizes and food and drink after the rides. If you've ever wanted to ride Arcadia but were daunted by the size, or you just want to have a good time riding somewhere new come on down. The trails vary from rocky and technical to easy rolling fireroads. There will be a long "hero loop" for all of you tough guys and gals, bring your lungs.

Directions: 95 to exit 5A (Exeter), right onto Rte 3 South. Right at the flashing light onto 165. Follow 165 to the large brown Arcadia Management Area sign and hang a left. Follow until you see the Browning Mill Pond entrance on your right (about 2 miles).

I was just looking for my original post about this event and found yours instead. I will be there early as I will be going straight from work. Anyone who would like to meet up around 8:30 I should be there. Unless I can convince the wife to go then I'll be a little later. like 9:00. As I have to rent her a bike the day before and then stop home and pick her up after work to go. I have only ridden two trails so far in arcadia and I would guess I am still a beginner as I barely finished an intermediate ride sunday.

There should be plenty of early arrivals. The registration runs until 11:00 but most folks have gone out well before then. Keep your fingers crossed for some nice weather!

It looks like it's still on. Look at the bright side, at least no one will die from heat exhaustion ::) Given how the last few weekends have turned out, versus the predicted outcomes - who knows what will happen?

Thanks for the EVENT for all that helped. I won two nice gifts in the raffle as well I got a nice burger. I got my butt whooped even on the small loop but it was fun.

Thanks to all who volunteered and attended the RI NEMBA fun ride. The weather held, the riding was great and I hope all that attended had a good time. For all members and non-members we appreciate your participation, All the money raised is for a good cause, the Make-A-Wish Fountaion. If you are not a member I would like to take a moment to ask you to consider joining. NEMBA and RI NEMBA are the voices of mountain bikers in RI and all New England states. We work with RI DEM and other groups to ensure that we have places to ride, conduct trail maintenace and promote responsible riding. We hope you consider joining and we will see you on the trails.

Yesterdays ride was great! My thanks to the organizers and sponsors for this fund raiser. The loops were well marked and took me to some different parts of Arcadia.

I did the epic loop and am feeling it today. It seemed like the epic loop was uphill the entire way!
