Anybody else love Ice Cream? Where are the best places to get homemade ice cream in Massachusetts or even all over New England. My vote goes to Rota Spring Farm in Sterling, MA... Certainly doesn't get any fresher, they own the cows!

Favorite Flavors? Best Ice Cream in other places... like on vacations etc.

JP Licks is good stuff too...

Big fan of Richardson's Dairy in Middleton, MA. Try the German Chocolate Cake.

I love german chocolate cake as long as there is no coconut frosting on it. Do they have an ice cream flavor called german chocolate cake, or do they have really good cake...

It's an ice cream flavor, but it does have coconut in it, along with big chunks of cake.

Crescent Ridge is good, but Bubbling Brook on the Westweed/Walpole line is better.

Wow another place I've heard of... Bubbling Brook is good, Rota Spring is still better though. I think The Black Cow in Millis might even be better than Bubbling Brook.

Kimball's Icecream. Yummm!
The one in Chelmsford? Littleton? (i can never remember what town) has gone all theme park with mini golf & water bumper cars, but the ice cream still is great.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Great Brook Farm in Carlise MA.
Some of the best MTB trails in the area & great Ice Cream all at the same place!

They own their own cows as well.

Sounds to me like a regular ride needs to be scheduled for Great Brook Farm...

I would agree with Peaceful Meadows being good, that place rocks, they're also located in Middleboro and Plymouth, but the big shop is in Whitman.

Also worth noting is Frozen Freddies in Quincy.

I have to agree as well with Peaceful Meadows. I used to live within walking distance of the Middleboro shop, open year round, couldn't beat it. My favorite all time though is Ericksons on the Maynard/Stow town line. Thier ginger ice cream really hits the spot on a hot summer day.
