FL Governor Jebb Bush that is. ;D
Jebb has just signed into FL law the Casle Doctrine!
This law removes the duty to retreat when attacked outside your home, and becomes effective 10/01/05. It also prevents the aggressor from sueing for any injuries you cause in self-defense!
With 1/2 million legal handgun owners in FL alone, this law will sure make criminals have second thoughts about pulling anything.
In todays Washington Post there is an article lamenting how the NRA was going to target other state legislatures to enact similar laws. (Go NRA!).
'Bout freeking time!

My only problem with this is that this law will be stretched in the wrong direction. I'm just waiting for some guy to get murdered because he cut through some idiots backyard.

If he's defending himself from an attacker and he kicks the **** out of him. GREAT!
Unless your saying the jerk who is doing the attacking turns and claims self defense and get away with it?

I don't think you quite get the new law, it's all about saving your a$$ before some scumbag does yours in.
Hopefully it will make people a little more respectfull & polite down there. Kinda like walking on eggshells & don't even think about treading on me man LOL!
