I'll be there (working/riding). The ride is always a good time and is a great way to learn Arcadia. The raffle items are usually pretty sweet thanks to Caster's, Ski Market, Victory Cycles and Providence Bicycle. I'm going to try to get some beer from Newport Storm to raffle as well.
We are also holding an Arcadia ride series this year (on the rinemba.org site as well).
Got your email - I can give a tour of Lincoln Woods this Friday night (around 6:00) or some night next week. Saturday I'll be at the Big River cleanup all day before heading to the NEMBA MTB video awards in Somerville. Sunday I'll be "giving back" to my fiance for making her pick up trash all day on Saturday - (it's not as bad as it sounds, it'll most likely involve hiking for the better part of the day ;D).

I work Friday nights :'( Whenever you get a chance on a Sat, Sun, Mon,or a tue. I work from 7pm to 7am wed, thur, fri and every other Sat. Can you give me better directions to Arcadia? I am in Harrisville. Is there a meeting place? parking lot? Pavillion or something? Or will there be signs for the event? I can get to 95 South that is no problem. I am going to sign up as A NEMBA member this week.
Thanks
Shawn

The $10 bucks is for beer. No really, we usually hold the Fun Ride as a fundraiser for a local non profit/charity. Last year the money from the North South ride went to a friend of RI NEMBA who has no health insurance and is in serious financial trouble. The Fun Ride money went to the Special Olympics. The Lincoln Woods event money went to the Mt Hope Learning Center in Providence. Most NEMBA events involve a cost of some sort since they are usually fund raisers of some sort. They are a bargain, especially the bigger, regional events (Blue Hills MTB day, Harpoon rides etc.) where you will most likely go home with more bike stuff than you showed up with via the raffles. Also the guided tour/arrowed rides in a new spot are worth the money alone. The Arcadia Ride Series is free and more informal (www.rinemba.org).

now that's the sort of thing that should be in the event description for those of us new people who havn't been to the events yet. Went to a beach in RI with a friend once and after paying to park we had to pay again to get onto the beach...wanted to make sure it wasn't some sort of use fee going to the state of RI. I work in providence, RI is getting more than enough of my money.
If I'm not busy that day I'll probably go.
