Hey, I posted the following on one of the other threads as well-we'll be back at it again in Wendell next weekend:
Hey everyone,
A few more thanks are in order:
1. Thanks to everyone who once again (and like earlier this year-in bad weather!!!) came out and slogged, ripped, raked and cut another mile of new trail up in Wendell this weekend-as I've said elsewhere, I can't help but be impressed with both the hardwork ('cause wendell is a somewhat challenging place to build trails) and good cheer of the dogged and truculent volunteers who have been coming out since last december. Proves to me what a great organization we have and my theory that mountain bikers are most good-hearted and hard-working of all outdoor enthusiasts (and I know the local land managers up in Wendell are arriving at the same conclusion!!!)
2. Special gratitude must be expressed for two local trail heroes: Harold Green and Mark Courtemanche-these two have gotten out 4-5 times over the last few weeks at 5:00AM with pink ribbon and chainsaws to layout and prep the trails at Wendell to ensure smoother trail work days. They expertly ran the show this weekend, and got out again on their own today to spruce the place up some more. Over the next couple of weeks, I'll be joining them for some more early morning trail work--anyway-these two deserve some extra gratitude-so here it is!
3. And some other local trail enthusiasts like Christopher Erickson, Jason Duncan and his crew have been putting in some extra time as well, sprucing up and grooming out the trails we have already built-that sort of work is indispensible and it's also much appreciated.
4. Finally-we'll be back at it again next weekend-if your interested keep your eyes peeled for posting or email me at ginaliam@mac.com.
