I heasrd that there were dates in the works for the freeride trailbuild days for Nam. Also was curious if there was anything in the works for a freeride trail in Leominster. I know the LSF thing was discussed in the past and was curious if this was dead in the water.

Stork had some conversation w/ Jim Wrightson from Wachusett NEMBA last season. They went and walked a couple areas in LSF that Jim was thinking of trying to get the okay to build on. Ended up that the powers that be would (for the moment) rather have us work on maintenance on the existing trails than cut new ones. I'm guessing that's will have to go on for the time being. Feel free to come out and work on some jumps and berms on our little shuttle run though ;) I think we're gonna start this w/e.

This years TM days at Leo are May 1st - blowdown clearing, Sep 10th, Oct 15th and Nov 12th.

Have site visit with the head of Wachusett Mtn DCR scheduled for end of June. They are very sensitive to new stuff going in without permission so please keep that in mind. The expansion at the ski area and all of the opposition that went along with that has also had an impact at Leo.

Didn't see much in the way of blowdowns last night at Leo. We'll try to cover the place and do a little 'inventory' this w/e.

How does the Wachusett Mt stuff tie in with the forest Jim?

LSF ties into the Mt as the same people are in charge with overseeing Wachusett and Leominster. The previous Park manager for Leo took over at Mt Tom and DCR budgets went south leaving the LSF spot vacant for over a year.
There is a new Park manager assigned to Leo but last year as soon as we talked about flagging some new trails I received a call from the Wachusett manager saying no new trails until any of the erosion problems are addressed.

Thanks Jim

I'm heading over there today - I'll bring my camera and see what I can find that looks like it might need some help.
