So, as some of you know, I took the winter off work and today is the last work day off. I spent the day as follows; hit the slopes for some spring turns just before 9AM. Skiied until noon, came home and hopped on the road rig for a little ride out to Evan's Notch. Windy out but sweet back.
Got home and cleaned up then started packing up a bunch of junk that needs to head south with us. Right now I'm drinking an IPA and screwing off (as you can see).
Over the winter we've had an addition going on our primary house. It's been a nightmare. It's almost done though and we can finally (as of tomorrow) use the kitchen again. Can't wait. Living here was nice as it afforded us sanity, peace and a kitchen.
So now I'm looking back at what I learned. Number one, work isn't all that bad and open/free time isn't all it's cracked up to be. Unless you're really regimented, you won't spent a couple hours on the trainer and ski and snowshoe and all the other junk. I find I work best trying to get the most out of the time I have left after work.
Second, spending most of the winter outside doing stuff kept me "fit" but not being on the bike much at all left me in poor, poor biking shape. I am now finding myself suffering to hang. I don't much care for that.
Third, not making any money makes it really hard to justify spending money, at least for me.
Well, monday I'll be back to work and will once again have lots of time for the forums. I'll also be back to the norm, aka riding 5 or so times a week. I really can't wait.
