Hey there:
The last week of June, I am planning a camping/mtn. biking trip for my fiance and I.
I am looking for your input for the best destination of single-track riding/scenery/camping/things-to-do (i.e:A Moab of the East coast).
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INPUT!

What's the riding ability/preference of you and your future spouse?
Acadia is a beautiful place to go that has some mountain biking options. And it'll have plenty of other non-MTB options applicable to a honeymoon (beaches, small town, Bed and Breakfasts, mini-golf). I wouldn't go there for a "Mountain Biking Honeymoon", but it sounds like you want a mix of stuff, including a couple places to go for nice romantic MTB ride. If that's the case, I'd consider Acadia National Park in Maine.
EDIT: It's no Moab of the east though.

Acadia Nat'l Park has FEW mountain bike options, IMO, unless you're planning on poaching. Gravel carriage roads are your only legal option. Yes, the coast is nice, the hiking and rock climbing are superb, but the good mountain biking is off limits.
My vote would be for Kingdom Trails in East Burke, VT.

I'll have to agree w/ Rob on Acadia, great scenery but double track riding only.
Ive never been to Ashville NC but I hear it is really nice (if you drive fast you could probably do it in 12 hrs)

Tsali in Western NC. You can stay in Bryson City pretty cheap. It might take a little more than 12 hours but the extra time is worth it. Type Tsali or Natahala Outdoor Center (sp ?) - or NOC into Google and check it out. My fiance and I are going down at some point this summer for a few days. The riding is roller coaster smooth and fast - think trail of tears but with some really nice scenery and very little climbing. Asheville NC is not far away either.

I took my wife to Kingdom Trails and it was great. We camped up on the mountain at the campground and did a ride together in the morning, eat a nice lunch in town, then I did a solo ride in the afternoon while she hung out by the river.
Check the weather for end of June, though. Could be cool at night for camping if she is not used to it.
If you are ready to drive 12 hours, I am curious about rothrock state park in PA, about 8 hours. I would also see about north carolina.
You should also consider that fact that you might find cheap plane tix from PVD for the same price as gas and mileage on your car for 12 hours. 12 hours is about 600 miles, or 1200 miles RT. that's about 400 bucks (low estimate) of driving cost. you can fly tons of places for that and rent a car when you get there. just a thought.
have fun!!!!
you could also do 24 hours of dalton at end of june! or 24 hours of snowshoe, west virginia.

12 hours...if you leave real early on a weekday puts you in shooting distance of just about every great riding area on the east coast. Take your pick..I'd check out Slatyfork in West Virginia, JIm Thorpe in PA is even closer and stilll pretty good. Tsali has been mentioned. Kingdom Trails in East Burke are probably the cream of New England.
But don't forget about the quality riding in your own back yard-especially when coupled with camping...I'd hit a bunch of places. Mass has some great state parks with good camping and quality riding (I'm sure the same can be said for ct, nh, and vt).

Unfortunately Splat, Kingdom trails has a strict "No pants, no riding" policy.

My vote is for kingdom trails, but also for Bradbury State Park in Maine. you can ride there and travel not far ride at some of the other local trails. LLBean is just down the road with quite a few places to eat out.You can also camp at Bradbury.

I'd stay local and go to Big River. Some of the best riding in NE or in the US.
