Started off the ride with a tip from my brother in law, so I headed from Ormand By the Sea out to the "Loop" for a little bit of road riding, about 72 deg F. (It eventually would hit 83 deg F!)
Gotta love Florida in March.

Until I saw the spot he told me about, Bulow State Park, there is a mix of Singletrack and doubletrack, that eventually leads to some ruins of an old 19th century Sugar Mill-plantation.

Typical FL terrain, fairly smooth by New England standards, but fun for SSing!

There were a bunch of little bridges like this, very fun to transit on and wheelie drop off.

On the way out, my Singlator spring broke, so I had to take the velcro straps from my front mud guard to get it to keep the chain tensioned.

I was planning on riding the 20 miles or so from here to the outlaws house on the beach ( you can drive cars on the beaches still in the Daytona area), but it was high tide, and there was more to look at on the main strip on the first weekend of bike week.
Now I don't feel guilty when I take the Harley out tonight!
I saw this sign on one of the many hotels on the main drag.
No gators this time, just alot of snapper!
All told it was a good ride, sunburn and all.
42 miles in 3:45
17 off road / 25 on road -->all SS!

nice photos - looks like an excellent place to ride a SS.
That sucks about the Singulator - makes me question the durability of the product since those trails look pretty smooth.

I did some nice road riding north of Daytona in a really overgrown state park that looked a lot like your pictures.
The road went on for miles through a dense, dark canopy, and it sort of gave me the creeps. It was really beautiful and all, but every time a beaten up pickup (complete with gunrack) sputtered by, I realized that all it would take would be for Billy Bob and Cleetus to throw my lycra clad body six inches off the side of the road and I'd never be seen again.

Yup. I might be investigating a half link or a SS frame.
There were some rooty sections, I just don't have any good pix of them. That's were it broke too.

I am a tad bit suspect of the new singulator design. I have had the old style for years and never had a problem. If you do decide on a SS frame remember there are some down sides:
with horizontal dropouts disc brakes become touchy
ecentric BB's can be a pain to deal with
freewheels are more prone to breakage than casette hubs
you cant convert the bike back to a geared rig

nice pix!
you might try the White Industries ENO eccentric hub. I have been happily using mine for many miles. I do not have disc brakes, though.
Supposedly they have a disc brake version, too.
I enjoy winter, but I have had about enough at this point.

The next time you are in this part of Florida, check out a trail located in the Graham Swamp Preserve in Flagler County. You will find it on Colbert Road going north. Take I-95 to S.R. 100, head east about 3 or 4 miles to Colbert. On the trail you will find 6.5 miles of singletrack with lots of rock gardens, rolling sections, drops and more dirty fun than Bike Week.
Just watch out for kamikazee armadillos.
