Skills Series 2005
The North Shore Chapter of the New England Mountain Bike Assoc. invites you to attend the Skills Series 2005. Members Derrick Click and William Piotte (justbill) will be holding a series of mountain bike skills clinics in parks along the Rte 495, Rte 3 area beginning in May. There is no cost to attend and previous MTB experience is not required. All we ask is that you bring a working bicycle and a helmet. Children may attend with their parent/guardian. Please use your best judgment.
All clinic dates are Thursday evenings or Saturday afternoons. Start times vary with the season, earlier in the spring and fall, later in the summer. The clinic includes an instruction period with drills and practice for new skills followed by a group ride. Typical duration is 2 hours, though ride leaders can be encouraged to ride till dark, or later. Additional dates may be added for rides only with limited instruction
This is a beginner’s clinic. The goal will be on developing strong basic skills, building confidence, and having fun. Mostly having fun. Each park we visit provides challenges unique to the terrain. We will focus the training to best take advantage of these differences. A detailed agenda will be sent out prior to each clinic.

We will meet at the Troting Park road lot at 3pm
Please bring a working bike and a helmet to attend. We usually spend about 45 min. on skills drills then use what we learned on the trail. With any luck we will return to the lot before dark, though we dont try to hard. We dont go far or fast, we just have fun.

Is it okay to bring non members to the skill clinics or even regular rides for that matter? I have a couple friends I'm trying to convince to leave pavement, and when they do I don't want to be stuck on fireroads...

I'm in, I can help out, if needed. I'm still trying to get my son there. I may be a few minutes late, I have something going until almost 2, and it takes me an hour to get there.
