It was some tough riding today, though it was a classic mid-winter ride. There was about 4" of fluffy powder over most of the ride. Man when we got to the clear sections it was like heaven. The downhillls were awesome, like skiing on the bike. Overall a good ride.

I gotta say I enjoyed the ride, maybe more than Jisch. There's a lot of fun in having to correct a slide on nearly every pedal stroke. It really hones the handling skills. Every once in a while you get to throw the thing in sideways on a 90 degree turn, using the snow as a kind of instant berm. If you ask me, that is as good as it gets. The fast, all-over-the-place downhills are a blast, too.

Ten, maybe twelve miles in 2.5 hours pretty much says it all as far as the quality of the workout. Add in lots of sun, and enough warmth so cold toes weren't a problem, and you have a perfect winter ride.

I'll admit it was the perfect snow ride. The perfect winter ride was last weekend. I appreciate getting out on the bike and riding snow with all its hidden dangers and sliding potential is fun, but give me rocks any day.

I'll take the rocks, too. But any ride this time of year is a good one. Thanks, again for the tour.

You're welcome any time, Steve. We'll work in Bigelow Hollow in the Spring, so you have less travel time. Then we'll take you south for some real CT ledge.
