even thought I was riding solo today , I got these amazing shots.

But first lets set it up . I went snow shoeing this morning and I went down the rail bed , and as I got as far as I planned to go. there were snow mobile tracks going down the Gas line at Hopping Brooke. well after I got home I ate lunch goofed around, then around 3 I decided to go see how ridable the sled tracks were .

Well I got there and they were barely ridable . But I continured to ride them anyway. I usually don't ride this section much because it is very swampy and Kind of Boring , but hey a ride is a ride .

Then I followed the sled tracks around a swamp/Stream and when I got to the other side I noticeed this !!! I didn't ride it , it is ridable , I walked a cross it . and it was quite sturdy , Once the Ice is gone this is a Must for trying i!

As I continued down the gas , I saw this coming at me . And I'm thinking cool some one to plow the trails for me !

actually he wasn't moving.

He had a Small problem

I was talking to them for a few minutes and they said they had help coming and sure enough Just as I went to leave some one in a jeep showed up.

And I continued to ride down this for quite a ways , as you can see it is straight and uneventful, except for the 2 snow mobiles coming right at me in this photo.

I went down a ways , and Notice a couple trails here and there shooting off the the right and left ,but they were not ridable right now because of Snow ,I will have to come back and explore. .

then I decided to turn around and head back the sun was getting low .

when I got back to the stuck truck , things had gotten worse. A tow truck was now there trying to get them out , but now he was stuck too!!

Well I watched as they tried to get the tow truck out , and they finally did ! with a another truck and a chain.

This is when I left because it was begging to get dark.

I'll have to remember that when I attempt that bridge - (to make sure your camera isn't anywhere around) it looks inviting, but also like a quick invitation into the drink!

Ahhh...Splat's camera...

The photos reminded me of this older story I've read. Some newfangled hummer was driving through a camp site parking lot and got stuck on a stump. Unfortunately for the hummer, it was right in the middle of this Jeep-only get together. This shiny new hummer had to suffer through being rescued by a 22+ year old jeep...while everyone looked on. Now that's justice. Here's the link:

that little bridge reminds me of the mary french bridge on the way from harold parker to the ward reservation. except its shorter and it turns less. im sure justbill will attempt it next time hes there.

Nice job with the camera but, questionable intelligence in abundance there...first getting the 4x4 stuck (what were they doing there in the first place?) then the ol' log under the r/r wheel (how'd that work out for you..) and last the chain they are using...if that puppy snaps it's either going forward through the suv or backwards into the cab of the tow truck...I once saw a photo of a CJ pulling a stuck vehicle when the chain snapped...said chain went through the rear window of the Jeep, though the headrest, and last through the windsheild right over the steering wheel...luckily, driver had his head out the side window and was looking to the rear when the projectile passed through...word has it there was an extreme foul odor in the cabin shortly thereafter.. :o

I was thinking the same thing: serves the idiot right for trying to be all gung ho and going offroading! with the plow that adds weight to the front, no less.
And for the chain, that is VERY true. I work on ships where we winch in chains and cables with high tension and the operator is always in a cage and all people are back and away. This is a result of too many people losing limbs/lives.

Shows you how pathetic trucks are as off road vehicles anyway.

I always chuckle at the big manly men with their jeeps, XTerras, etc.. and all the silly big tires, bumpers, etc..

Anything other than a clear fire road they will all get dusted by a humble mountain bike!

No I have walked on that part of the MM and if he was at hopping brooke, I don't think its the same place. Maybe I'm wrong cause I have no idea where hopping brooke is ??? But I know that part of M&M is in Granby CT.

Hopping brook industrial park is in Holliston, MA. That bridge is on the powerlines behind hopping brook and possibly in Medway at that point???
